For the past thirty years, Shimmi has focused a great deal of her time and effort on supporting social causes and raising funds for charities in the USA, Pakistan and the Washington DC Metropolitan area. She has supported and raised funds for a number of Pakistani and American charities such as Edhi Foundation, Layton Rahmatulla Benevolent Trust (LRBT), SOS, The Kidney Center, Fatimid Foundation, The Imran Khan Foundation / Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital, CHAL, JANUM, AMAN Foundation, Children’s Hospital, Lombardi Cancer Center and others.
She is on the board of the non-profit organizations Friends of Pakistan Club, which recently celebrated their 65th anniversary, and the Association of Pakistani Women in America (APWA).
Prior to the formal establishment of The Citizens Foundation in the US as a 501-C organization, Shimmi Kidwai started TCF in the US and helped in collecting funds. Her dedication to TCF stems from her belief that education, especially education provided to the under privileged children, is the only hope for Pakistan.
She was on Board of TCF USA and currently serves as an adviser to the Board. She also serves as the President for the TCF Washington DC Chapter, she is also a Trustee / Director of The Hunar Foundation, USA.
Mr. Shoaib Mastoor, Baltimore, MD — President for Vulcan Group Inc did his Electrical Engineering from University of Minnesota and has been involved in multiple charities and fundraising efforts.
Farooq presently serves as the Chief Information Officer for Cash & Corporate Services at Northern Trust Bank. With over 30 years of experience in the IT industry, particularly within the Financial Services sector, Farooq brings a wealth of expertise to our board. He began his professional career in 1990 after earning a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Houston. In 2006, Farooq further enhanced his credentials by completing an Executive MBA from the Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston.
Aslam Khaliq is presently serving as Chairman Reckitt Benckiser (Pakistan) Ltd. He was former Chairman and adviser of Pakistan Tobacco Company Ltd, a subsidiary of the British American Tobacco Company, which employees over a 100,000 people, with operations in around 180 countries and is a market leader in more than 50 countries selling over 300 brands.
He is also presently Chairman of The Hunar Foundation & CHAL Foundation (both Not for Profit NGO’s), as well as being on the Board of Governors of Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Pakistan International Airline (PIA) & PIA Investments.
He has served on the Boards of Oil & Gas Development Company Ltd, National Data and Registration Authority, Govt. of Pakistan (GOP), Islamabad Stock Exchange, Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission Bio-Sciences (Pvt.) Ltd.
He has also served as member of the Board of Governors of Indus Valley School of Art & Architecture, Karachi, National Vocational and Training Commission, GOP, and Intellectual Property Organization, GOP.
Mr. Ansir Junaid, An Engineer by profession and a well-respected entrepreneur, business leader and an embodiment of the American dream. Upon graduating with Marketing and MIS degrees from Cleveland State University, Ansir worked for Pepsi. Today, he is the Founder and CEO of PWC International and is involved with fundraising and charity works.
